Frequently Asked Questions

1. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I run into.  I will note that these are NOT the question (IMHO) that people SHOULD be asking.

• Q: Is this a startup?  
  • A  No  Market America is noot a start up  (they usually fail) -  Market America is 20 years old.  The company is WAY past the start up phase.
• Q: Management Team Stability
  •  A: The same corporate team has been together since the beginning.   One gentleman passed away and the company has grown to 675 employees world wide, but the top tier has stayed the same.
•  Q:  Is the compoany debt free?
  • A:  Oh yes.  They are not only debt free but their pockets are deep enough to buy SHOP.com at the end of 2010.
•   Q:Is the Compensation Plan stable? (many companies change their plan regularly so that it is hard to tell where you are)
  • A: MA has changed the plan several times in the last 20 years.  Every time they added money and income streams for the distributors.  I can live with that.
•  Q:  Is the companyProfitable:
  • A: Market America has never had a down quarter.  There are very few companies that can say that for the last 20 years.
•  Q:Do they provide good inexpensive training? 
  •  A:Market America has the 2^nd largest not-for-profit training system in the country.  There are over 8,000 formal meetings per quarter.   One of the owner’s commitments is that the training be as close to free as possible.  There are a number of very large networking companies where the higher ups make most of their money training the new people.  This means that the new people are paying the established people, not the customers paying.  Market America is fairly fanatical about making money off of product sales – period.
•  Q Is the company reputable?
  • AL Market America has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and the COO is on the Better Business Bureau Board.  Their staff are regularly recognized with national awards.  The owner’s wife (a Senior VP in her own right) was recognized as one of the top 50 motivational influences on the Internet.  The list goes on and on.
•  Q Is the companyGrowing?
  • A: Yes.  Not as fast as we would like, but the growth has been steady.  We have just opened in the United Kingdom and Mexico is scheduled for this year.
•  Q:  Is the company Dynamic?
  • A:  Yes.  Market America recently purchased SHOP.COM – a well established, award winning comparison shopping site and that integration has resulted in huge increases in web traffic ot distributor’s Social Shopping web sites.  Market America is also a Product brokerage company (like Walmart).  This means that we don’t make our own products and can dynamically shift with the market.  We are not tied to one product line.
